Matt Porteous is the founder of Ocean Culture, a global ocean storytelling platform built on the belief that culture moves faster than science and that the stories we tell about the natural world determine how much of it we keep.

His career began in luxury: Royal commissions, destination weddings, and global hospitality brands. That access funded something else entirely. Over ten years, he quietly built a platform that connects the world's best ocean storytellers with audiences and partners who can amplify their work.

His early fascination with the ocean began with a yellow underwater Minolta, sparking a lifelong commitment to documenting people and place with honesty. Today, his work spans from high-profile celebrations to grassroots conservation stories, united by one principle: human connection.
